I do enjoy the "Conquer" chess pieces I recently bought from Chess Central. They are a classic design with a good "feel" to them, and they're not too hard on the wallet.

These hefty pieces make playing a pleasure. The substantial size and weight gives homage to this grand game, and at the same time make it easy for my nearly-seven-year-old to handle the pieces as he learns. This is by far my favorite of all the chess sets we've owned.
