The Twelfth Correspondence Chess Champion, Grigorij K. Sanakojew describes his struggle to achieve the pinnacle of correspondence chess. This work contains 59 selected games. Many of these feature extraordinary long-term sacrifices whose depth surpasses that of ordinary over the board play. Sanakojew highlights his thoughts and feelings during the games as well as exhibiting the necessary in-depth analysis that a correspondence player simply cannot avoid. Originally a chemist, Sanakojew has branched into chess coaching.
