Game of the Adepti
1 to 4 players - with Encylopedia of Magick
The powerful Enochian System of Magick was adapted by Victorian Adepts of the
Golden Dawn into "a complete system of training and initiation" which was
originally taught to Candidates only after having reached the exalted grade of
Zelator Adeptus Minor.
This game incorporates the outer-order knowledge of the Golden Dawn hermetic
order and subsumes other divination systems such as Tarot, Geomancy, and
Astrology. Enochian (Rosicrucian) Chess provides a complete method of
self-initiation into the Western mystery tradition.
You can rise through the grades from Neophyte to Zelator Adeptus Minor, and
can use the game for practical ACTIVE divination (to alter/influence events as
well as to predict) as opposed to fatalistic-based PASSIVE systems such as Tarot
and the rest where the questioner plays no active role in the outcome of their
reading. Underlying this chess variant is a complex net of magical
correspondences based on Egyptian, Tarot, elemental, and geomantic symbolism
1982 was the first time the sets had been seen by the uninitiated public. The
launch was supported by a grant from Prince Charles Award Trust. Israel Regardie
helped with the project.
