ChessCentral is pleased to offer you the finest Staunton pattern chess set from John Jaques of London. Jaques of London is responsible for the design and production of the original Staunton pattern chess sets which were first offered to the public in 1849.

The set is available with a 4.0" King. The light colored pieces are crafted from fine boxwood and the dark colored pieces from ebonized boxwood. Each piece is nicely weighted and cushioned with high quality billiard cloth in the original Jaques tradition. 

The Jaques designed Staunton chess pieces come house in a leatherette box. The box is partitioned and the interior is lined with billiard green felt to protect your new chess set.
