Mahogany and Maple Elite Chess Board
Mahogany is a delightful wood found primarily on the Ivory Coast
of Africa. The color is a dark reddish shade, usually with a purplish
cast. The grain is typically interlocked, but often produces a striped or swirl
effect. Mahogany has a high, golden luster - a beautiful choice for chess boards
at an extremely moderate price.
Our Elitel wooden chess boards
in Mahogany are available in 2.375"squares with an overall size of 23.5
x 23.5 inches. The light squares are fabricated from Bird’s-eye Maple
(BEM), the dark squares in beautiful Mahogany. These veneered chess
boards are 0.5" thick and have a satin-like finish, giving a smooth
touch to the boards and protecting chess players from light reflection.
