Pocket Chess Strategy
Learn and Improve on your Pocket PC!
Pocket Chess Strategy is the first chess program to teach
strategy and positional play on a Pocket PC. The program has a convenient
user-friendly interface and suits for Pocket PC both with Windows Mobile 2003,
and Windows Pocket PC 2002. After downloading the program you can choose or enter
the user and then the information on all further work, and the current user will
be saved and displayed.
This program presents 18 important strategic themes,
including:
Pawn structure, Weak square, Central squares, Exchange, Plan, Prophylaxis,
Hanging pawns, Isolated Queen's pawn, Pawn pair c3+d4 on the semi-open files,
Advantage in space, Attack on the King, Attack on the Queenside, Open files and
diagonals, Disposition of pieces, Positional Sacrifice, Prevention, The rule of
two weaknesses, Defense and Counterattack, etc.
This course was composed by GM Kalinin and contains as many as 250
examples for self-study and 1,100 selected exercises
for you to solve.
In the chosen course or theme you can pass to solving or studying either by
clicking the pictogram, or through the Menu.
The chessboard size can be both increased and reduced.
Moving through the theme you can add filters, which will allow you to select
exercises on the basis of complexity level, to ignore already solved exercises,
etc.

You can create Tests. In this case the program selects exercises for Test at
random according to your results and then shows the additional statistics on the
basis of your solving percentage.
All statistics generated by working with the program are saved for each user and it is
available in a convenient form.

The user can choose the language interface, and also has an opportunity to
read through the printed documentation in the brochure enclosed to the program.
