Shogi

ChessCentral is pleased to offer the award winning chess variant Shogi software program from Multisell. The CD includes popular variants Tori Shogi (also called Bird Shogi with specially designed graphics), Mini, Micro and Judkin's Shogi. Pieces in each variant can be viewed as Traditional Japanese calligraphy, Western Learner sets, or its special easy-to-learn designs. As well as the game itself, this software has a large graphical encyclopedia of Shogi history and explains the rules and some basic strategies.

The Shocky engine that powers the software reached the grand Final of the 10th annual World Computer Shogi Championships. It includes modifiable opening books, various playing strengths, and can be individually customized! The software comes on an attractive CD in a clear DVD case.

Multi-player capable. The game software (from 1 to 4 players) on this CD-ROM is capable of play across a local computer network or remotely across computers over the internet. The single player version allows selection between computer opponents. Levels are selectable from beginner to expert/analysis. Settings are highly customizable. Neither program requires hard drive space, and can run from the CD-ROM. Shogi will run under Win 2000, ME, NT & XP. Requires a Pentium with 16MB RAM. The CD-ROM in contained in a clear DVD case, with elegant labeled artwork
