Volumes I
This program is designed by GM Alexander Kalinin to help the student
understand the ideas and strategies behind typical middlegame positions
according to the openings they originate from. Intended for stronger players.
Having no analogues among chess programs Middlegame I contains detailed material
on two courses:
1. Typical Pawn Structures (Karlsbad, Hedgehog, etc.)
2. Typical Plans and Methods in the Most Popular Openings (Scotch, Sicilian,
Ruy Lopez, Caro-Kann, French, English opening, Dutch, Slav, Catalan,
Nimzo-Indian, King’s Indian, Gruenfeld, Benko Gambit).
You get training material with more than 600 examples subdivided into themes
according to typical methods and ideas of playing. The program contains about
1,000 exercises found in real games (the most important moves to be found by
you). If you make the wrong move, you get help in the form of alternative moves
and prompting markers. At any moment you can call an external chess playing
program (Hiarcs, Genius, Rebel, MChess Pro).

contains Typical Plans and Methods in the Most Popular Openings.

the embedded chess playing program Crafty. Also playing from an optional position is possible.
You can create tests on the basis of settings chosen by
yourself. Exercises, difficulty, topic, quantity, etc. The program
forms the tests at random on the basis of your settings, and according to the
results
it will show the level at which you play the given opening. Multiple user profiles featured with independent ratings
and statistics for each. Printing options are also available. You can set the pieces type and size, font and background.
