Each of the four programs includes detailed theoretical material for the corresponding openings and variations, positions for solving and special learning positions to play against with the built-in game engine. In the four programs you'll find detailed material on the theory and practice of playing key middlegame positions arising from the following openings: Ruy Lopez, Two Knights' defense, King's gambit, Italian game, Evans gambit, Scotch, Petroff defense, Sicilian defense, French defense, Caro-Kann defense, Scandinavian defense, Pirc-Ufimtsev, Alekhine's defense, Queen's-Indian defense, Queen's gambit, Queen's Gambit Accepted, Slav defense, Modern Benoni, Gruenfeld defense, English defense, King's Indian defense, Nimzo-Indian defense, Reti opening, Old Indian defense, Catalan, Benko Gambit, and more!

When studying each theme step by step, you can master all the methods and improve your play drastically. Multiple user profiles are featured with independent ratings and statistics for each. Printing options are also available.

Encyclopedia of Middlegame
Volumes I

This program is designed by GM Alexander Kalinin to help the student understand the ideas and strategies behind typical middlegame positions according to the openings they originate from. Intended for stronger players. Having no analogues among chess programs Middlegame I contains detailed material on two courses:

1. Typical Pawn Structures (Karlsbad, Hedgehog, etc.)

2. Typical Plans and Methods in the Most Popular Openings (Scotch, Sicilian, Ruy Lopez, Caro-Kann, French, English opening, Dutch, Slav, Catalan, Nimzo-Indian, King’s Indian, Gruenfeld, Benko Gambit).

You get training material with more than 600 examples subdivided into themes according to typical methods and ideas of playing. The program contains about 1,000 exercises found in real games (the most important moves to be found by you). If you make the wrong move, you get help in the form of alternative moves and prompting markers. At any moment you can call an external chess playing program (Hiarcs, Genius, Rebel, MChess Pro).

  • More than 1,000 exercises for solving.

  • Numerous text and visual hints to help the student find the solution.
