Introducing the ChessBase Engine Cloud
Deep Fritz 13 introduces the innovative "ChessBase Engine Cloud" and revolutionizes the way we work with system resources. This new function makes it possible for the first time to make use of engines backed up by the calculating power of other computers for your own analysis - without overloading your own system. And that can be done in exactly the same way as if you were on your own computer: for deep position analysis, blunder search, engine matches, etc. It does not matter whether the engines are working on a table next to you in your study, on the office computer or in a computer center in Australia.
High-end computers for everybody! If you have several computers, link your engines and processing power on a single PC or propose your machine to other users via the "Cloud". This development is especially exciting for owners of high-performance computers or clusters. The key point: hire processing power from a third party and turn your small laptop or your "old faithful" into a tactical giant and strategic monster at the click of a button!
Advantages at a Glance
1. Optimize your analysis. Working with engines running concurrently really makes sense for the first time. Concurrently running Cloud Engines can, on the other hand, without any loss of performance, take on different tasks. Example: one engine is operating in the slower mode of calculating more variations so as to point out how sharp the position is. Another is dealing with only one single main line and thus achieves greater depth of analysis functioning as a tactical scout.
2. Save your resources. Anyone using a "Deep" engine with a notebook is well aware of the howling of the cooling fan which is striving to keep down the temperature of the processor because a chess engine always puts the CPU on full load and can rapidly drain the battery of a notebook. If, on the other hand, Cloud Engines are used, then your machine will work quietly, without overheating and it will go easy on the battery, because all of the processing is taking place elsewhere
3. Save on expensive hardware. Serious analysis requires powerful machines. These are expensive, take up a lot of space and depreciate quickly as they age. If when required you use processing power from the Cloud, then you are saving money.
4. The highest level of performance in the shortest time. If, for example, a correspondence game has reached a critical position, you would like for a short period of time to drastically increase your analyzing power. With the Cloud you can now demand the help of a series of powerful engines for your notebook with a single click.
Let's Check Function
Gone are the days when you had to wait for your computer to reach substantial depth in order to be certain of avoiding a chess trap. Now you can simply use Fritz 13's new "Let's Check" feature and you'll see chess opening analysis, some quite deep, and theoretical novelties all submitted by users of different chess engines. This new "Let's Check" function allows you to be part of a worldwide chess community that is assembling an ever expanding chess opening knowledge base.
Whenever you analyze a position to any meaningful depth with your Fritz 13 chess software program, or discover a brand new chess opening move, you can now send your chess analysis to a central server, to be shared by all participating users. Almost instantly, you will be able to find deep analysis for almost every chess opening position you look at, all generated by the finest chess playing engines in the world, all running on the most powerful machines around.
Be the first to "discover" a position! Whether you are a beginner, a club player or a Super-GM, with the Let's Check function switched on, you can use the powerful chess engine of Fritz 13 to analyze hitherto unknown positions and you will be automatically registered as the "discoverer" of that position. And you can "Conquer" chess positions too! Let's Check keeps updating the evaluations to any given position with newer, deeper analysis as it becomes available. Using powerful machines and the latest engines allows you to "conquer" positions, with your name attached to the newest, deepest analysis. You can also add comments to your analysis, which other users will see when they encounter the position.
Become a chess opening expert with Let's Check. The entire body of modern openings theory is built into the system, and Let's Check provides you instantly with the latest statistics of any position in the opening: how often did it occur, which moves were played, with what success. The openings book (LiveBook) is updated on a weekly basis and will show you which variations are currently topical and how good they are. It will also reveal which lines are being analyzed and debated in the international community, and with what conclusions.
Using Let's Check while watching top games live on the Playchess server becomes an experience in itself. Not only do you have the latest openings and statistics at your disposal, you can also see the results of the most powerful computers and engines that are logged into the server - total information on any computer, in the blink of an eye.
Access to "Let's Check" database until December 31, 2015.
Deep Fritz 13: 60% Faster than Fritz 13
Chess programs have been high-performance utilities for a long time now. The higher your system performance, the greater the value they will be to you. But with multi-processor systems that only works if you have a "deep" version, because it is only then that the program can make use of several processor cores in order to calculate simultaneously. Things are no different with the new Deep Fritz 13, on a dual-core computer the engine is already approx. 60% faster than the "little" Fritz 13. And yet things are not the same as they always were with Deep Fritz 13.

Data Library Collection
Get focused with our new series of on-target databases ready for immediate download! The ChessCentral Data Library is for the specialist who needs a comprehensive source of games for his chosen opening or variation. Tired of wondering if the "other guy" knows something you don't? Look no further - here you will find the largest collection of relevant games assembled anywhere, along with an Introduction to help orient newcomers to the opening. Most importantly, each database comes with its own specially constructed Opening Key - a powerful tool that lets you pinpoint the critical variations and see at a glance which games require detailed study.
Each entry in the ChessCentral Data Library contains a staggering number of games, usually double that of the typical "Mega" CD. And we're talking squeaky clean: besides the usual "kill doubles" drill, these databases were sorted by move order and visually scanned for those hard-to-get duplicates. The Players Index has been unified, and we even tried to standardize the Tournament Index! So don't worry - you're getting far more than a simple merging of other databases...you're getting the best game collection available. The ChessCentral Data Library offers a sure foundation for anyone wishing to take up the opening in question.
We believe the ChessCentral Data Library is perfect for any tournament player preparing to use these openings. Sure, owning a book or two is good, but nothing can replace actually seeing thousands of complete games played out on the chess board! A few hours spent here will be quickly repaid by points on the crosstable. So enjoy...and happy hunting with the ChessCentral Data Library!
