Improve Your Chess with the Right Chess Moves:Try to put your pieces on squares that give them maximum space.Develop your pieces to squares of maximum space and freedom (mobility). The freedom number of a piece is the number of squares to which the piece can legally move. The space of a piece is the number of squares in your opponent's half of the board to which the piece can legally move. Chess pieces on squares with larger space and freedom are more flexible to move with greater threats. Chess pieces are better suited to support an attack when they have larger space. The concept of maximum space and freedom is more important in the opening and middle game, and you should take advantage of developing pieces that cover the most space and have the most freedom. The more pieces there are on the board, the more important space is a factor in controlling the game. Chess players should be able to count, create, and control space on a chessboard with his pieces. Try to develop you pieces to give them maximum space and freedom while still keeping the king safe. King safety is the most important factor as it does not matter how much space you have if your exposed king cannot defend itself from an attack. If your king is safe, then develop your pieces to the center of the board where they are most likely to have the maximum space and mobility. Also, the more advance your pawns are, the more space you will have. If you have very little space, most likely your pawns are not developed very well and you have a cramped position. Here are some examples of pieces that have maximum space that could lead to a quick game. |
