Chess Assistant 9 is a unique tool<<Selection in Document>> for managing chess games and databases, playing chess through the Internet, viewing electronic texts, studying openings, analyzing games, or playing chess against the computer.

Chess Assistant 9 Starter package includes a strong game engine Shredder (ELO rating 2750), a convenient mode of entering and analyzing games, Chess Opening Encyclopedia 2006 , powerful search system, unique Tree mode, the database of 1 000 000 games played by masters and grandmasters that can be automatically updated through the Internet each week with 3000 new games (for free till the end of 2008).

Chess Assistant 9 Starter package allows to connect the strongest game engine Rybka, open and edit any data from DVDs, Chess Databases and Advanced Chess Data , add or view databases in PGN and CBH formats, while removing any duplicate games.

The Chess Opening Encyclopedia 2006 mode includes rich theoretical material on all the openings, more than 8 000 annotations from GM Kalinin and 500 000 expert evaluations to key opening positions. The detailed key system for any opening has an opportunity to edit. The new Test Opening mode will allow testing your knowledge and skills in openings.

Chess Assistant includes a convenient interface for playing at Internet Chess Club .

Chess Databases

DVD presents the best chess databases of games in two formats - PGN and Chess Assistant, which can be used in the popular programs Chess Assistant, Chess Base, Fritz , Shredder, Junior, Hiarcs and etc.

The database HugeBase includes 3 002 000 games from the beginning of the chess history till the 1st of April 2006.

It is one of the cleanest and most approved databases without duplicates. The number of games with less than 10 moves is just 0.8%. The players' library consists of more than 200 000 chess players with unique names, and more than 50 000 of them are included into the rating list of FIDE . Each game has exhaustive information: participants, date of the game, place, tournament class, opening index. The database HugeBase in Chess Assistant format includes 36 000 commented games.

The database Corr 2006 includes 376 450 correspondence games from 1973 to 2005. The players' library contains more than 50 000 chess players with unique names.

Besides there are following useful chess data on DVD:

• Encyclopedia of players: 950 photos of the famous chess players in JPEG format, the list of the tournaments where the player participated, change of the ELO rating in the course of years.

• MegaCAP (for Chess Assistant users) – 36 000 000 computer evaluations.

This DVD sized 9 Gb contains ALL endgame positions that have 3, 4 or 5 pieces on the board.

At that, evaluations for this position are 100% true!

It is enough to set a position on the board in any of the programs mentioned above and using Nalimov Endgame Tablebases you can see :

- how the position is evaluated

- what is the strongest continuation in this position and how the game can go on at the strongest playing of the both sides.

Moreover, if during analyzing by the playing program in one of the variants there is a position with 5 pieces then the program receives a true evaluation and can select the strongest variant based upon this evaluation.

In some products, e.g. in Chess Assistant , you can train endgame skills by playing against the program that makes the strongest moves using Nalimov Tablebases .
