This volume is the second in a two-part exhaustive survey of the
Sicilian Scheveningen. Whereas volume one covered general plans, here we find
the latest opening theory and practice. After 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4
Nf6 5.Nc3 e6, all lines are discussed with plenty of explanations and
evaluations and fresh analysis. Chapter One looks at the interesting deviation
4...Nc6 5.Nb5, and then each White approach to the main system is examined in
detail. Anyone wishing to understand this fighting defense from either side is
well advised to start with these battle manuals. Taken together, they offer a
complete answer to the Open Sicilian.
