In the Carpathian Mountains of eastern Europe, home of the dragon and the vampire legends, artisans still draw deep from a wellspring of history dating back centuries, honoring the finest traditions in wood carving. This chess set is named after the mythical deity Zaria, the Goddess of Beauty - and if she played chess, this set is the one she'd use! These unique and handsomely designed chess pieces are made of Hornbeam and Sycamore, both woods from the forests of Europe. Hornbeam (sometimes known as Ironwood) is mostly white and used for intricate and decorative carvings. Sycamore offers a dark brown, smooth textured wood, perfect for the dark pieces. The wood then meets the craftsmanship of our master artisans, resulting in the finest moderately priced chess set available in the marketplace today. The King is a serious 3.35" inches tall on a chess board measuring 16.5" x 16.5" and fit for display at home or in the office. The folding chess board, made from beach and birch wood, has an insert tray for the chess pieces inside. King Height: 3.35" Case Dimensions (Folded): 16.5" x 8.25" x 2"

Good but not just as the picture
Posted by Nils Ole on Nov 13th 2016
The boards is beautiful and looks a lot like the one in the picture. The bad thing about it is that the engraving on the peaces itself are not that well done. They where not worked on as much as the one in the picture. But overall the boards is great with a good size and feeling. It does feel like a good board and the visual is pleasing when playing. Recommended board for sure.
